Starbucks is closing stores

Shoreline, WALocal News

Starbucks plans to close around 125 stores nationwide, with a significant number located in the Puget Sound area. The company will update its app this weekend to reflect the closures. Specific locations shutting down include the Starbucks at 13025 Aurora Avenue N in Aurora and the Thrasher’s Corner Starbucks at 2020 Maltby Road in Bothell. The closures also affect the Starbucks at 21920 Highway 99 in Edmonds, two locations in Lynnwood, and stores in North Seattle and Woodinville. This decision follows a trend of reassessing physical store locations as consumer habits evolve, particularly in response to online ordering and delivery services.

The closures may lead to job losses and reduced access to Starbucks products for local residents. Starbucks has not disclosed the reasons behind the specific store selections or the potential impact on its overall business strategy. Local communities are left to adjust as these popular coffee shops close their doors.
