A Visit to The Little Store in its final days

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Little Store at Richmond Beach will close permanently in ten days, ending a 19-year chapter of service to the Shoreline community. Owner Sung Gwak shared her uncertainty about the store's future as the aisles showed signs of disarray and dwindling inventory. A GoFundMe campaign has raised funds to help the owners transition after years of providing essential grocery and home items. Shoppers struggled to find anything of interest, with only a jar of salsa and nacho cheese dip remaining on the shelves. The building has served as a retail space since 1927, and property owner Alan Gross plans to remodel it without renewing the lease.

There are rumors that the space may reopen as a neighborhood store post-renovation. The closing highlights the local impact of small businesses on community identity and accessibility. Residents hope to support the Gwak family as they embark on their next venture.
