Legally blind artist painting demo at Museum of Special Art in Perrinville Village

The Museum of Special Art in Perrinville Village will host a painting demonstration by Charles Curtis Blackwell on October 10, 2025, from 12-2 PM. Blackwell, who is legally blind, will showcase his work from the "In the Tenderloin" exhibition and conduct painting demonstrations for attendees. Participants will have access to tables and art materials to join in the creative process. Blackwell’s philosophy emphasizes resilience, as he encourages others to transform challenges into assets. His art reflects the vibrancy of the Tenderloin district, resonating with themes of music, rhythm, and Afrocentric culture.

Blackwell has gained recognition as a performer, author, and visual artist, featured in the documentary "The God Given Talent: The Creative Life of Charles Curtis Blackwell.
