“The Last Class,” a film chronicling Robert Reich's last course at UC Berkeley, will be shown at The Crest in Shoreline, WA, on September 20, 2025, at 11 a. m. The event is sponsored by Communities Rising and aims to celebrate Reich’s impact as a master educator and former Secretary of Labor. The film portrays Reich grappling with his own aging while his students face a world marked by inequality. One thousand students are expected to fill the largest lecture hall on campus, highlighting the significance of his final lecture.

Reich's last assignment challenges students to consider who will take up the mantle of teaching in the future. The film's raw emotion and introspection offer a rare glimpse into Reich's thoughts on societal change. This screening not only commemorates his educational legacy but also encourages community engagement with pressing social issues. Attendees will gain insight into the transformative power of education and the responsibility of future generations.
