South County firefighters return from wildfire

Four South County firefighters returned home after 16 days of battling the Lynx Mountain Fire near Daisy, Washington, which has posed a considerable threat to local communities. Firefighter Andy MacDonald, Captain Tyler Ackley, Captain Dennis Lunny, and Firefighter Patrick Dineen completed their deployment successfully. One additional firefighter is scheduled to return tomorrow, while two others will remain for another week to continue assisting with the fire response. All deployed firefighters possess certification for wildland fire response and volunteer for such critical missions. South County Fire will receive reimbursement for the costs incurred, including personnel and equipment utilized during the deployment.

This collaboration underscores the importance of community support in addressing wildfire threats. The Lynx Mountain Fire has been a significant concern for Ferry County residents, emphasizing the need for readiness in wildfire management. Local firefighters play a vital role in protecting lives and property in the face of increasing wildfire incidents.
