Green Shoreline x MBAKS Planting a Better Tomorrow Tree Planting Event October 24, 2025 at Paramount School Park

Shoreline, WALocal News

The City of Shoreline is organizing a tree planting event on October 24, 2025, at Paramount School Park, in collaboration with the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties. This initiative aims to combat air pollution, as Shoreline is one of 16 communities identified as highly affected by a recent study by the Washington Department of Ecology. With a current tree canopy coverage of just 9%, there is a significant opportunity to enhance the area’s green space. The city has set an ambitious goal of achieving 40% tree canopy by 2050 to improve air quality and increase community well-being. Participants are invited to register for the event, which will provide lunch, and are encouraged to carpool due to limited parking.

This partnership reflects a commitment to environmental stewardship through the Green Shoreline Partnership and Planting A Better Tomorrow programs. Shoreline's efforts align with broader environmental goals aimed at promoting sustainability. Increased tree planting can also lead to enhanced community engagement and a healthier urban environment.
