Washington State Parks will co-host the International Coastal Cleanup on September 20, 2025, at seven parks, including Cape Disappointment and Fort Worden. This event is part of a broader effort to engage the community in preserving Washington’s coastline and marine life. Last year, 2,339 volunteers removed an impressive 159,431 pounds of debris, demonstrating the significant impact of volunteer efforts. So far in 2025, volunteers have collected 155,003 pounds of debris, with the cleanup still to occur. Participants should dress for variable weather, wear sturdy shoes, and pack food and water for the day.

Supplies for debris collection will be available, but reusable gloves are recommended. A Discover Pass will be needed for vehicle access to state-managed lands on the cleanup day. For more details and to pre-register, visit CoastSavers. org.
