'Rise up' together - Peaceful principles guide opposition to Trump actions

Shoreline, WALocal News

This past weekend, nearly 40 residents participated in "Social Justice Sundays" at the Shoreline-Edmonds line to protest President Trump's policies. The event, organized by Everyday Activists, featured signs addressing issues such as fair elections and creeping fascism. Attendees noted that support from passing motorists, including honks and waves, far exceeded the few negative reactions. Local police vehicles provided security during the hour-long event, which followed a week of heightened tensions due to recent violence. The organizers plan to hold similar events every Sunday in September, encouraging attendees to bring donations for local charities.

One volunteer contributed by cleaning up the area, promoting community beautification. The next "Nationwide Day of Action," themed "Rise Up," is scheduled for October 18, 2025. This ongoing activism reflects a commitment to addressing social justice issues at the local level.
