LFP Council approves contract for Ballinger Way 40th NE roundabout

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Lake Forest Park City Council approved a contract with Johansen Construction Company for the SR 104 and 40th Place NE roundabout project, estimated at $8. 6 million. The company won the bid with a proposal of $5. 4 million after a competitive process. Construction will begin in the second half of 2025, aiming to improve safety and promote non-vehicular travel in the region.

The roundabout will include new sidewalks, shared-use pathways, and pedestrian crossings with refuge islands. Traffic will be managed by flaggers, resulting in reduced lanes on SR-104 during construction. The initiative aligns with the city’s focus on environmental sustainability and infrastructure development. Residents can reach out to project managers Mike Read and Katie Phillips for more information. This project represents a significant investment in community infrastructure and safety.
