A "Social Justice Sundays" sign-waving event drew nearly 50 participants on September 6, 2025, at the intersection of Aurora Avenue North and N. 205th St. Organized by Everyday Activists, the gathering showcased pro-democracy messages and criticism of President Trump's policies. Attendees were met with supportive waves and smiles from motorists, who expressed their appreciation through comments like "Thank you for being here! " and "Trump kicks a**!

" The group will continue these sign-waving events every Sunday in September, promoting community engagement and accepting donations for local charities. This month's theme, "Rise Up," reflects heightened national concerns over the deployment of National Guard troops and ICE operations in major cities. In addition to regular events, a "Nationwide Day of Action" is planned for October 18, 2025, inviting residents to voice their opinions. Participants can bring their own signs or borrow one from the group, emphasizing collective activism. The events aim to strengthen community ties and highlight issues affecting local residents.
