Shoreline, WALocal News

A mountain biker fell over the handlebars at St. Edwards Park in Kenmore on September 6, 2025, prompting a swift response from local firefighters. The steep and treacherous terrain required a high-angle rope rescue, as rescuers navigated the ravines filled with trees and vegetation. Rescue units from Kirkland and Bothell initiated operations to stabilize and extract the injured rider, who was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment. Firefighters highlighted the significance of ongoing training for such technical rescues, reinforcing their preparedness for emergencies.

The trail, frequented by both hikers and mountain bikers, presents challenges due to its steepness and hazardous conditions. Fortunately, the operation concluded without any injuries reported among the responders. This incident underscores the importance of safety measures for outdoor activities in steep terrains.
