NEMCo CERT Course Starting in September

The Northshore Emergency Management Coalition (NEMCo) is set to begin its Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Basic Training on September 25, 2025, at Fire Station 51 in Kenmore, WA. This seven-week course is offered free of charge, equipping participants with essential skills to handle emergencies and disasters. Topics covered include fire safety, basic first aid, and light search and rescue. The training is designed for individuals of all backgrounds and abilities, requiring no prior experience. Interactive lessons and hands-on practice culminate in a disaster simulation, allowing participants to confidently apply their skills.

Emergency Manager Kevin Lowery emphasizes the program's goal of fostering community preparedness and resilience. NEMCo's initiative responds to the increasing importance of local emergency readiness in a changing climate. With a focus on equipping residents, the program aims to enhance overall community safety.
