Application to adjust lot lines to demo a portion of the Shops at Richmond Beach

Shoreline, WALocal News

Shoreline officials have initiated an application to adjust lot lines at the Shops at Richmond Beach to enable the construction of a 230-unit assisted living facility. This project will feature 130 below-grade parking stalls and includes the demolition of a vacant building and part of the shopping center. The Santa Fe Cafe and Beach House Greetings, two popular local businesses, currently occupy the existing structures slated for demolition. Project Manager Alicia Halberg highlighted the importance of public input, with comments due by September 5, 2025. The proposed development seeks to provide more senior housing options and address the growing demand for assisted living facilities in the region.

This project aligns with broader trends of adapting commercial properties to meet community needs. Local residents may experience changes in business accessibility during construction. The city aims to balance development with the preservation of essential local businesses.
