Overnight NE 185th Street closure planned August 25-29 in Lake Forest Park for sewer work

Shoreline, WALocal News

NE 185th Street will close nightly from August 25-29, 2025, from 9 PM to 5 AM to facilitate sewer work associated with the State Route 104 Lyon Creek fish passage project. Contractor crews will work beneath both lanes, necessitating the closure. Detours will be clearly marked for drivers, while local residents will maintain access to their properties during this period. Once the sewer work concludes, crews will replace a culvert that carries Lyon Creek under SR 104/Ballinger Way NE. This new culvert will be 24 feet wide to allow easier fish movement and will be installed during a subsequent 35-day closure of SR 104 beginning September 2.

The Lyon Creek fish passage project aims to enhance local wildlife habitats and improve environmental conditions. Real-time travel information will be available through the WSDOT mobile app and email updates. The planned work underscores ongoing infrastructure improvements in the Lake Forest Park area.
