Story Walks in Lake Forest Park

Shoreline, WALocal News

Throughout August, Lake Forest Park invites families to enjoy story walks featuring STEM-themed tales like Ada Twist and Rosie Revere. The walks are set in picturesque parks, including Lyon Creek Waterfront Preserve and Five Acre Woods, where placards display the stories along walking paths. This initiative, supported by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and sponsored by BNBuilders, promotes literacy and outdoor activity for residents. The stories are accessible in both English and Spanish, ensuring all community members can participate. The partnership with the LFP King County Library System further strengthens local literacy programs.

Story walks encourage families to bond while engaging with literature in a natural setting. The initiative fosters a sense of community and promotes healthy outdoor activities. By blending education with recreation, Lake Forest Park enhances the quality of life for its residents.
