On August 8, 2025, Shoreline Mayor Chris Roberts hosted “Coffee with the Mayor,” attracting about 20 community members at the Senior Activity Center. Attendees voiced concerns regarding public safety, affordable housing, and the implications of federal funding changes on local projects. Many residents inquired about proper channels for reporting issues, including noise disturbances, property crimes, and camping. Roberts emphasized the importance of calling 911 for urgent matters to help police track community issues. For non-emergency concerns, he directed residents to reach out to the Code Enforcement and Customer Response Team via email or phone.

This event initiated a new program aimed at fostering open dialogue between city officials and residents. The Senior Center plans to continue hosting similar gatherings to strengthen community connections. Engaging with local citizens is crucial for addressing the diverse challenges facing Shoreline.
