Free 5 week Community Police Academy in LFP

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Lake Forest Park Police Department is set to offer a free, 5-week Community Police Academy commencing on September 3, 2025, with classes scheduled for Wednesday evenings. The program aims to educate attendees about police operations and strengthen the relationship between law enforcement and the community. Participants will gain insights into various aspects of policing, including K-9 units and criminal law, through a mix of classroom instruction and practical activities. This initiative, while not a direct pathway to a law enforcement career, fosters open dialogue and transparency between the police and community members. Space in the program is limited, but a few spots remain available for interested individuals.

Participants must be at least 18 years old and either live or work in Lake Forest Park to qualify. To register or seek more information, potential attendees can reach out to Commander Diego Zanella via email. This academy represents a proactive step towards building trust and understanding between the police department and local residents.
