From Hiroshima to Hope commemorates the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with a lantern floating ceremony at Green Lake on August 6, 2025. The event begins at 6:00 p. m. with lantern preparation, leading into musical performances by Hatsune Matsudaira and Seattle Kokon Taiko. Activist Stan Shikuma from Tsuru for Solidarity serves as the keynote speaker, addressing the ongoing fight for justice for Japanese Americans.

The program includes 1,000 candle-lit lanterns inscribed with messages of peace, launched into the lake at dusk. Attendees also have the opportunity to view a photo exhibit showcasing the bombings' aftermath and two significant sculptures. "Little Boy (folded)" by Yukiyo Kawano and "The Wild Rose of Hiroshima" highlight the connection between past and present. This annual event, organized by the non-profit From Hiroshima to Hope, aims to promote peace and remembrance. It is free and open to the public, emphasizing the importance of honoring all victims of violence.
