From Hiroshima to Hope commemorates the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki with a lantern floating ceremony at Green Lake on August 6, 2025. The event begins at 6:00 p. m. with lantern preparation, leading into musical performances by Hatsune Matsudaira and Seattle Kokon Taiko. The program includes 1,000 candle-lit lanterns inscribed with messages of peace, launched into the lake at dusk. "Little Boy (folded)" by Yukiyo Kawano and "The Wild Rose of Hiroshima" highlight the connection between past and present.
