Second Annual Shoreline Slam High School Tennis Tournament a repeat win

The Second Annual Shoreline Slam tennis tournament showcased talent from 155 players across more than 35 high schools from July 24-27, 2025. Jointly hosted by Shorewood and Shorecrest High Schools, the event featured matches at Kellogg Middle School and Shorewood High School, highlighting athletes from all corners of Washington. Luke Madath of Bishop Blanchet defended his Boys Gold Doubles title alongside Peter Kosten, defeating reigning state champion Lucas Walburn and Tyler Stimmel. Madath also partnered with Rylie Gettmann to retain the Gold Mixed Doubles title in a thrilling match. The Girls Gold Singles championship featured a nail-biting contest where Alex Mignogna of Shorewood edged out Katelyn Hoang of Highline.

Coaches Arnie Moreno and Rob Mann expressed their excitement about the sportsmanship and competitive spirit displayed. The tournament aims to strengthen the local tennis community, following the model of the Snohomish Summer Smash, which has been running for a decade. The 3rd Annual Shoreline Slam is scheduled for July 23-26, 2026.
