Homeless couple finds help, and hope, thanks to Ofc. Robles, Retired Sgt. Becker and Save-A-Mutt

Shoreline, WALocal News

Officer Robles discovered a homeless couple in Lake Forest Park while on patrol, who were struggling to care for six puppies after being turned away from a rescue facility. The couple had resorted to stealing food for the animals, prompting Officer Robles to intervene. He arranged for the puppies to be surrendered to Save-A-Mutt, a local nonprofit dedicated to dog rescue. The couple kept two puppies due to their emotional connection, as the litter was born to a recently deceased family dog. Mr.

Brown, a longtime resident, donated $1,500 for the puppies' care, demonstrating the community's generosity. Officer Robles also purchased food for the puppies, collaborating with Safeway for safe transport. This incident not only highlights the challenges faced by the homeless but also the compassion of the Lake Forest Park community. It serves as a reminder of the positive impact that quick action and community support can have in difficult situations.
