North Helpline has an urgent need for Canned Soups other shelf-stable foods

Shoreline, WALocal News

North Helpline faces a critical food shortage as recent SNAP cuts lead to emptier shelves and increased demand for assistance. The organization now serves over 1,100 households weekly, more than double its capacity from three years ago. It urgently requests donations of pop-top cans and other easy-to-make shelf-stable foods, including mac & cheese, ramen, and canned fruit, to create no-cook bags for local families. Donations can be made through the North Helpline's Amazon Wishlist, allowing supporters to send needed items directly. This appeal reflects a broader trend of rising food insecurity in the community, exacerbated by recent policy changes.

North Helpline continues to play a crucial role in addressing these needs as local families struggle to access adequate nutrition. The organization emphasizes that every contribution makes a difference in the lives of those it serves. Community support is essential to combat the ongoing challenges posed by food scarcity.
