Volunteers needed for Pro and Con committees in Lake Forest Park for Public Safety Levy Lid Lift

Shoreline, WALocal News

Lake Forest Park is actively seeking residents to serve on “Pro” and “Con” committees for a proposed Public Safety Levy Lid Lift, which will be on the ballot for the November 4, 2025, election. Each committee can include up to three voting members and any number of non-voting advisors, all of whom must be registered voters in the city. Members will work together to create a 200-word statement advocating for or against the levy, with the option to draft a 75-word rebuttal to the opposing committee's statement. Residents interested in participating must contact City Clerk Matt McLean via email by 5:00 PM on July 24, 2025, providing their name, address, phone number, and committee preference. The City Council plans to appoint members during its meeting on the same day, and their names will be forwarded to King County Elections by August 5, 2025.

This measure is significant for ensuring voters receive comprehensive information regarding public safety funding in Lake Forest Park. The initiative reflects the city's commitment to engaging residents in local governance and decision-making processes. By fostering community involvement, the city aims to enhance transparency and informed voting on critical public safety issues.
