Republic Services resumes normal collection

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Teamsters union and Republic Services settled their contract dispute, concluding a two-week strike that disrupted waste collection in King and Snohomish counties. Normal pickup schedules resumed on July 21, 2025, allowing customers to return to their usual service days. Affected customers will receive credits on their next bills for the service portion due to the interruption. As part of the resolution, Republic Services plans to collect double the amount of garbage, recycling, and organic materials at no additional cost on the next scheduled service day. Customers should leave all their containers out for collection, ensuring a smooth resumption of services.

This resolution is crucial for local residents who experienced significant disruptions during the strike. The contract settlement reflects broader labor negotiations in the waste management sector. Republic Services aims to restore customer confidence by enhancing service offerings following the strike.
