Shoreline Rally draws 300 for "Good Trouble"

Shoreline, WALocal News

On July 17, 2025, around 300 residents attended the "Good Trouble Lives On" rally in Shoreline, celebrating the legacy of civil rights leader John Lewis. Although organizers anticipated a smaller turnout due to the event's midweek timing, the crowd remained spirited under the 80-degree heat. Hosted by Everyday Activists and Indivisible ShorelineWA, the rally featured resources for voter registration and local community organizing efforts. This date marked the fifth anniversary of Lewis's passing, a poignant reminder of his fight against injustice. Lewis famously urged citizens to "get in good trouble," a message that resonated with participants.

The next scheduled event, "Social Justice Sundays," will occur on July 20, encouraging residents to advocate for civil rights and democracy. Attendees are invited to bring signs and support local causes, emphasizing the importance of community engagement. Additionally, donations of food and toiletries will be collected to assist those in need during these events.
