Local residents graduate from Dickinson College with honors

Dickinson College held its Commencement ceremony on May 18, 2025, honoring graduates from various backgrounds, including Shoreline, WA residents Lillian Grace Hogan and Michael James Wymer. Hogan graduated with a BA in philosophy, achieving magna cum laude and recognition on the dean's list. Wymer earned a BA in history and French & Francophone studies, also graduating magna cum laude and making the dean's list. Founded in 1783, Dickinson College prioritizes small class sizes and extensive opportunities for research and internships in its 46 majors. The college has an enrollment of 2,100 students and boasts one of the top off-campus study programs in the nation.

Additionally, Dickinson was one of the first colleges in the U. S. to achieve carbon neutrality, emphasizing its commitment to sustainability. These achievements reflect the college's dedication to academic rigor and community involvement. The graduates' honors illustrate the high standard of education provided at Dickinson College.
