Shoreline, WALocal News

Lake Forest Park invites residents to join Pro and Con committees for a proposed six-year Public Safety Levy Lid Lift. The City Council plans to decide on July 10, 2025, whether to place the measure on the November 4 general-election ballot. Each committee can have up to three voting members, all of whom must be registered voters living in Lake Forest Park. Committee members will collaborate to draft a 200-word statement supporting or opposing the levy and may also prepare a 75-word rebuttal. Applications for committee positions are due by 5:00 PM on July 17, 2025.

The City Council will appoint members on July 24, 2025, with the final statements due to King County Elections by August 15, 2025. This process aims to provide balanced perspectives on the levy, which is crucial for the community's public safety funding. Residents interested in serving should email City Clerk Matt McLean for consideration.
