Hebrew Sunday School announces reopening after 5 year hiatus due to Covid
Registration has opened for a new Hebrew school in Shoreline, targeting Jewish students aged 4-12 attending local public schools. The program will run on Sunday mornings at the Shoreline-LFP Senior Center and offers a curriculum that includes Alef Bet study, Jewish holiday literacy, and practical educational experiences. Director Shimona, known as "Rebbetzin D," stated that the program aims to provide a joyful and engaging introduction to Jewish learning. A local parent expressed happiness about the school's reopening, emphasizing the importance of community and friendships for Jewish children. Chabad seeks sponsors to subsidize tuition scholarships, aiming to ensure every child has access to high-quality Jewish education.
The school welcomes all Jewish families, regardless of their observance level or membership status. Studies indicate that Jewish education is vital for fostering involvement and continuity within the community. Interested families can begin registration by contacting Shimona at 206-941-7037 or visiting ShorelineJewishCenter. org/CHS.
