No Tour de Terrace event this year but parade will take place July 18, 2025

Shoreline, WALocal News

The Tour de Terrace festival in Mountlake Terrace has been canceled due to insufficient funding after three decades of operation. Originally founded by former Mayor Jerry Smith and his wife, the event was officially retired in January. A new non-profit, MLTCares. com, attempted to take over but raised only a portion of the required $50,000. Despite the festival's cancellation, the Seafair-sanctioned parade will take place on July 18, 2025, at 6:45 PM, showcasing floats, marching bands, and local leaders.

Attendees can participate in the parade, with applications due by July 10, 2025. This situation reflects broader funding challenges faced by community events in the area. The Tour de Terrace has been an important part of Mountlake Terrace's culture, and its absence may impact local engagement. For more details, residents can visit the MLTCares website.
