First Ever Work Party in the New Section of Hillwood Park

Shoreline, WALocal News

The city is organizing its first work party at the new section of Hillwood Park on June 27, 2025. This area, purchased with Proposition 1 funding, connects Hillwood Park to 8th Ave NW, facilitating pedestrian access. Significant improvements are planned for the park, including a kids splash pad, new footpath, and picnic area, which will begin later this year. The Green Shoreline Partnership coordinates volunteers to clear invasive plants and debris in preparation for these upgrades. Participants will celebrate their efforts with an optional social hour at a nearby restaurant after the work party.

This initiative emphasizes community involvement in enhancing local green spaces. The park's development aligns with the city’s broader goals of improving public spaces and fostering community engagement. By revitalizing this area, the city aims to create a more accessible and enjoyable environment for residents.
