Mayor Lurie and Breast Cancer Survivors Unveil Nations First Permanent Breast Cancer Memorial Garden in Golden Gate Park
Mayor Daniel Lurie unveiled the BAYS Breast Cancer Memorial Garden in Golden Gate Park, the first permanent memorial in the U.S. dedicated to those lost to breast cancer. This $800,000 project, funded by donations, is a collaboration between the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department and the Bay Area Young Survivors nonprofit. The garden aims to provide a space for remembrance, healing, and reflection for both survivors and families affected by the disease.
