Portland's Street Services Coordination Center (SSCC) reported 64 shelter referrals for individuals experiencing homelessness during the week of June 23-29, 2025, with 46 accepted and 23 utilizing beds. The SSCC works collaboratively with various agencies, including Fire & Rescue and Multnomah County, to provide compassionate assistance and streamline services for those living outside. During that week, the Impact Reduction Program received 2,840 new campsite reports and assessed approximately 977 campsites, leading to the removal of 177 that posed health and safety risks. The program aims to mitigate the impacts of homelessness while connecting individuals to long-term housing solutions. Since April 2022, the SSCC has facilitated 7,520 shelter referrals, with 2,431 individuals having utilized shelter beds.

The program highlights its commitment to addressing the needs of the homeless population in Portland through proactive measures. As homelessness continues to be a pressing issue in urban areas, the SSCC's efforts remain vital in enhancing community safety and wellbeing.
