Marysville Police apprehend armed suspect after theft at sporting goods store

Marysville Police apprehended a man who displayed a firearm during a theft at a sporting goods store, leading to his arrest and multiple charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm and theft. Surveillance footage revealed he concealed the weapon under stolen clothing. In a separate incident, five juveniles, aged 12 to 15, were arrested after they assaulted a victim attempting to photograph them during a shoplifting incident at Fred Meyer. They fled in a stolen Kia, which was later located by police. The 14-year-old driver evaded capture initially but crashed the vehicle, leading to their apprehension.

Officers charged the driver with assault, eluding, and possession of a stolen vehicle. The police department has urged Kia and Hyundai owners to take preventive measures against auto theft as these incidents reflect a concerning trend in the area. Local law enforcement agencies continue to work together to address rising theft and drug-related crimes in Snohomish County.
