The incident unfolded when a victim attempted to photograph the suspects shoplifting at Fred Meyer, leading to an assault and the theft of a black Kia. Officers in the area quickly located the stolen vehicle, but the 14-year-old driver crashed while attempting to evade capture. The driver faces multiple charges, including Assault and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle. One 15-year-old suspect was arrested for outstanding warrants related to stolen vehicle possession, while three female suspects, aged 12 and 13, were returned to their guardians.
