Celebrate Earth Day at citys newest park

The City of Marysville is hosting an Earth Day Cleanup on April 22, 2025, at Gissberg Twin Lakes Park, inviting residents to join in restoring the park's natural beauty. Scheduled from 2 to 6 p. m. , the cleanup aims to emphasize the importance of environmental stewardship within the community. Volunteers will be provided with litter grabbers, trash bags, and gloves to assist in their efforts.

Individuals aged 15 and older can participate, while younger volunteers must be accompanied by an adult. Gissberg Twin Lakes Park, recently acquired from Snohomish County, features a beach, picnic areas, and hiking trails, making it a cherished local destination. This cleanup not only fosters community engagement but also enhances the park's appeal for residents and visitors alike. Following the cleanup, families can look forward to the Kids’ Fishing Derby on May 17, encouraging youth to connect with nature. Such events underline the city’s commitment to promoting outdoor activities and environmental awareness.
