Free post-holiday recycling tree-cycling Jan. 4

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville is hosting a free post-holiday recycling and tree-cycling event on January 4, 2025, from 10 a. m. to 2 p. m. at the former City Hall site.

This initiative aims to help residents dispose of holiday waste, including cardboard boxes and Styrofoam, in an environmentally friendly manner. Participants are encouraged to bring clean Styrofoam, packing peanuts, and natural Christmas trees for recycling into wood chips for city parks. The event is a collaborative effort involving local organizations such as the Marysville Sunrise Rotary and the Everett Community College Environmental Action Club. Donations of nonperishable food and cash for the Marysville Community Food Bank are also welcomed, promoting community support alongside environmental stewardship. This event not only serves a practical need but also fosters a sense of community engagement.

By flattening cardboard boxes and removing decorations from trees, residents can contribute to a cleaner environment. Overall, this initiative emphasizes the importance of recycling and community collaboration in the post-holiday season.
