City draft plan open for public review, comment

Marysville, WALocal News

Marysville has opened its draft 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan for public review, inviting residents to contribute their feedback on the allocation of $365,000 in federal Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds. The plan focuses on supporting low- to moderate-income residents through various initiatives, including assistance for elderly and functionally disabled adults at risk of homelessness, and meal programs for low-income seniors and children. Additionally, the plan proposes minor home repairs for seniors and disabled adults, along with supportive housing for homeless families. Infrastructure improvements, such as updated lighting and wider sidewalks at Comeford Park, are also part of the recommendations. Residents have until April 20 to submit comments, which will be considered at a public hearing on April 28 before the final plan is adopted.

The City Council meeting will commence at 7 p. m. at the Marysville Civic Center. For those needing an alternative format of the draft plan, the Community Development department is available for assistance. This initiative highlights the city's commitment to enhancing community welfare and accessibility.
