Everett man arrested for attempted kidnapping

Marysville police responded to a disturbing attempted kidnapping incident on August 14th. An adult male approached a parked vehicle, claiming that the child inside was his. When the child's father intervened, a brief altercation ensued, prompting the mother to lock the car doors. The suspect made a second attempt to enter the vehicle but was pushed away by the father and subsequently fled the scene. Officers quickly broadcast a description of the suspect and his vehicle, leading to his arrest just half a mile away.

The suspect, identified as a 51-year-old Everett man, has been charged with Attempted Kidnapping 2nd Degree. Fortunately, the child was frightened but unharmed, thanks to the parents' decisive actions. The case highlights the importance of vigilance and quick responses in protecting children from potential harm.
