State Ave. closure Saturday, Dec. 7, for holiday parade

The City of Marysville has announced that State Avenue will be closed on Saturday, December 7, from 5:30 p. m. to 10 p. m. for the Merrysville for the Holidays Electric Lights Parade.

This popular event is part of the city’s holiday celebrations and draws large crowds, necessitating road closures for safety. Motorists are encouraged to expect heavy traffic in the downtown area and to utilize marked detour routes, which include Cedar Avenue, Grove Street, and Armar Road. In addition to State Avenue's closure, 5th and 6th Streets will also be closed between State Avenue and Delta Avenue starting at noon on the same day. Delta Avenue will remain closed from 5th to 9th Streets during the parade and will continue to be closed between 5th and 6th Streets for the entire weekend. The city is making these adjustments to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for all participants and spectators.
