Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville is opening public review of its Hazard Mitigation Plan, designed to bolster community resilience against disasters. The plan, developed by the Emergency Management division, incorporates input from city staff and the public through meetings and surveys. It outlines four key goals: reducing hazards to life and safety, strengthening critical infrastructure, enhancing preparedness and response, and aligning priorities across various entities. Using modeling and mapping, the plan assesses risks and identifies community strengths. A detailed action plan will guide mitigation efforts over the next five years.

Residents can access the draft plan and submit comments until December 3, either online or by contacting Emergency Preparedness Manager Sarah LaVelle at 360-363-8096. This initiative aims to proactively address local hazards, ensuring a safer environment for all. Public engagement is crucial for the plan's success and relevance to community needs.
