Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville is calling for public feedback on its draft Hazard Mitigation Plan, which aims to reduce the impact of disasters on the community. This initiative focuses on enhancing resilience through four main goals: safeguarding public health, fortifying critical infrastructure, boosting preparedness, and ensuring coordinated efforts among various entities. The plan was developed by the Emergency Management division with extensive contributions from city staff, agencies, and community members through public meetings and an online survey. It assesses local natural and technological hazards, outlining specific mitigation actions to be implemented over the next five years. The plan not only aims to protect lives and property but also addresses environmental concerns.

Public review will remain open until December 3, allowing residents to provide their insights. Comments can be submitted online or through direct contact with the Emergency Preparedness Manager. This proactive approach is crucial for fostering a resilient community in the face of potential hazards.
