MPD Officer works to end animal suffering with new training program
The Marysville Police Department's new Animal Cruelty Investigation Training program aims to address and prevent animal cruelty in the area. Since its introduction in September, the program has drawn participation from nearly 70 agencies and trained over 460 officers. Officer Dave Vasconi underscored the program's mission to rescue abused animals and ensure they receive medical care. Collaborating with Pasado’s Safe Haven, the initiative seeks to hold offenders accountable and improve overall animal welfare. Vasconi, driven by his deep passion for animals, believes they depend on people for basic needs and affection.
The training has received positive feedback, with many participants expressing appreciation for its content. Residents are reminded to report any incidents of animal cruelty by calling 911. This proactive approach signifies a growing commitment to animal rights and community safety.
