Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville invites residents to review its draft Hazard Mitigation Plan, which aims to lessen the impact of disasters on the community. This plan includes four long-term goals: enhancing safety, strengthening critical infrastructure, improving preparedness, and fostering collaboration among various entities. The Emergency Management division developed the plan over several months, incorporating feedback from public meetings and an online survey. Through modeling and mapping, the city assessed risks and identified community strengths to inform the plan. Specific mitigation actions and implementation strategies are outlined for the next five years, addressing both natural and human-caused hazards.

Public comments are welcome until December 3, promoting community engagement in safety initiatives. Interested residents can access the draft plan online and reach out to the Emergency Preparedness Manager for more information. This approach signifies the city's commitment to building a resilient and sustainable community.
