Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville is seeking community input on its Hazard Mitigation Plan, designed to bolster resilience against disasters. The plan sets forth four crucial goals: reducing hazards to life and health, enhancing infrastructure, improving emergency preparedness, and fostering coordinated community actions. Over the past months, the Emergency Management division collaborated with various city departments and agencies to develop the draft, incorporating feedback from public meetings and an online survey. The plan identifies both natural and technological hazards, assessing their potential impacts on the community. Specific actions are outlined in an action plan for implementation over the next five years.

Public review and comment are encouraged until December 3, allowing residents to engage directly with the planning process. This initiative is critical for protecting lives, properties, and the local environment. It represents a proactive step in addressing community vulnerabilities to hazards.
