Marysville, WALocal News

The Marysville Police Department's Animal Cruelty Investigation Training program strives to eliminate animal abuse in the community by training officers to respond effectively. Launched in September, the initiative has enrolled nearly 70 agencies and trained over 460 officers. Officer Dave Vasconi emphasized the importance of rescuing animals from abusive environments and providing them with medical care. The program has reported significant success in saving animals and holding abusers accountable. Pasado's Safe Haven's Director praised the collaboration and the positive impact on law enforcement.

The Community Service Unit, led by Officer Vasconi, specializes in investigating crimes against animals and responds to numerous cruelty complaints annually. The public is encouraged to report suspected animal cruelty by calling 911. This training program represents a crucial step towards improving animal welfare in Marysville.
