Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville has released a draft of its Hazard Mitigation Plan, inviting residents to provide feedback until December 3. The plan aims to enhance community resilience against disasters through four long-term goals: reducing threats to public health, strengthening critical infrastructure, improving preparedness, and fostering coordination among various sectors. Developed over several months, the plan involved input from city staff, partner agencies, and public meetings. It identifies local hazards and proposes specific mitigation actions to be implemented over the next five years. The Emergency Management division utilized risk assessments, modeling, and mapping to inform the plan.

Residents can access the draft plan at the city's website and submit comments or questions directly to the Emergency Preparedness Manager. This collaborative effort underscores Marysville's commitment to safety and sustainability in the face of potential hazards. Public engagement is crucial for the successful implementation of the plan.
