Weigh in on citys Hazard Mitigation Plan
Marysville is soliciting public feedback on its draft Hazard Mitigation Plan, which is open for comments until December 3. The plan's primary goal is to bolster community resilience to disasters by addressing hazard-related threats and enhancing critical infrastructure. It sets four long-term objectives, including improving preparedness and aligning priorities among local agencies. The Emergency Management division, with input from city staff and the public, developed the plan over several months. An action plan specifies mitigation strategies for the next five years, informed by risk assessments of both natural and technological hazards.
The city conducted modeling and mapping to identify community strengths and capabilities. Residents can review the draft on the city’s website or reach out to the Emergency Preparedness Manager. This initiative reflects a proactive approach to disaster management and community safety.
