City, school district update on property exchange

Marysville, WALocal News

The City of Marysville and the Marysville School District have reached a property exchange agreement, streamlining operations for both parties. The city will pay the school district $2 million to acquire its administration building, facilitating the relocation of the Public Works facility. This amended agreement was approved by the Marysville City Council on March 24 and the School Board on March 31, 2025. Construction on the former City Hall at 1049 State Ave. is scheduled to commence this month, involving an addition and remodeling work.

Completion is anticipated by December 2025, allowing the school district to occupy the site after the school year. The city will assume control of the school district's administration building at 4220 80th St. NE by January 1, 2027, aligning with the district's transition plans. This exchange is crucial for both the city's infrastructure and the school district's operational needs. The agreement reflects a collaborative effort to optimize municipal and educational resources.
