Unregulated and untraceable MPD officers seize numerous 'ghost' guns after robbery

A group in Marysville experienced a frightening robbery when a man brandished a gun and demanded their belongings. The event occurred on 88th Street NE near 61st Drive NE, involving an adult and juveniles. After the robbery, police found the suspects' car at a nearby residence, prompting a standoff that lasted about an hour before the suspects surrendered. One individual was arrested for first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, while another suspect, a convicted felon, was charged with eight counts of unlawful firearm possession. During a search of the property, officers discovered nine firearms, including five "ghost" guns, which lack regulation and serial numbers.

This incident raises significant concerns about gun violence and the proliferation of untraceable firearms in the community. Local law enforcement continues to address the challenges posed by such weapons, emphasizing the need for stricter regulations. The case underscores the importance of community safety and proactive measures against gun-related crimes.
