Reminder Fireworks illegal in Marysville

Marysville, WALocal News

Marysville enforces a total ban on fireworks, with fines beginning at $513 for discharging them within city limits. The Marysville Police Department will conduct increased patrols and strictly enforce this law during the July 4th holiday. Violators may have their fireworks confiscated and could face jail time, particularly for more serious offenses. Selling consumer fireworks carries a misdemeanor charge with penalties of up to $1,000 and 90 days in jail. Those using display or dangerous fireworks face even harsher penalties, including a gross misdemeanor charge with fines up to $5,000 and a year in jail.

The only exceptions to this ban are public displays approved by the Fire Marshal. Residents are encouraged to report illegal fireworks by calling the non-emergency line at 425-407-3999. Keeping emergency lines clear for life-threatening situations is essential, so 911 should only be used for immediate emergencies.
