Project underway to reopen Mother Natures Window to public

Marysville is set to reopen Mother Nature’s Window, a rugged 34-acre nature park that has been closed since 1999. Construction aims to create recreational and educational opportunities while preserving the park’s natural beauty. Key improvements include a new driveway, parking lot, sidewalks, and enhanced trails. The project, budgeted at $1. 47 million, is being carried out by Matia Contractors, Inc.

, with completion expected in December 2025. Funding includes a significant $750,000 federal HUD grant, which covers about half of the costs. A public opening is planned for spring 2026, with additional future improvements in the pipeline pending funding. This initiative not only reestablishes public access but also improves the city's ability to maintain the park effectively. Mother Nature’s Window was annexed into Marysville after being privately owned until acquisition by Snohomish County in 1999.
